Frequently Asked Questions
How do I know if outdoor therapy is right for me?
We provide an inclusive service that supports people from a diverse range of backgrounds. Contact us for a free 10 minute phone-call to discuss any questions you might have.
What can I expect from the first session?
The first session is an intake appointment where background information is gathered and we develop therapeutic goals. You have the option to meet initially over video conference, or in a local park. It is important that this session is primarily seated so that I can take notes about your (or your child's) background history.
Where do we meet?
We operate in locations across central and wider Brisbane area. The location depends on what is convenient, comfortable, and suited to you and will be discussed prior to commencing therapy. Your confidentiality is vital and will also be considered when choosing a location to meet.
What if it's raining?
Our appointment will continue as scheduled. Wet-weather sessions can be a great opportunity to gain a new perspective, and to explore themes of resilience and growth. It is important to dress appropriately so please wear comfortable shoes (gumboots if you want to splash in puddles!), and raincoat or umbrella. If the weather is dangerous, storms are expected, or you are simply not comfortable in wet weather, we can reschedule or have our appointment via Zoom.
What is your therapeutic approach?
I deliver a strengths-based, holistic therapeutic approach that is tailored to the individual. I am experienced in several evidence-based modalities including Cognitive and Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Trauma-Informed Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Attachment-Based Therapy, Interpersonal Psychotherapy, Emotion-Focussed Therapy, Positive Psychology, and Circle of Security.
